New Orleans

After the lakehouse, we came back to B'ham for a day to regroup and then drove down to New Orleans for the weekend. We met up with some of our best friends from Houston who made the drive over to hang out. We had a great hotel right in the French Quarter so we could walk everywhere. The French Quarter Music Festival was that weekend too, which made it even more fun! We really got to enjoy the music and culture of the city. There were live bands set up all around the French Quarter and restaurants had stands where you could buy good Cajun food for a great price! People were sitting around in camping chairs listening to music and enjoying being outside. It was 75 and sunny! We also tried out our dancing skills with a couple Zydeco bands...very fun music to dance to I must say :-) We went to Cafe du Monde for some amazing beignets, my favorite! We also ate dinner at Lee's favorite place, Franky and Johnny's, where we had boiled crawfish and good fried seafood. It was a great weekend and we were so sad to leave! We miss you already Houstonians!
