Girls' Weekend

I spent yet another amazing Girls' Weekend with my fellow "cupcakes" this year. Kate hosted in San Antonio and we had a blast with our "Viva Fiesta" themed weekend. She did such a great job with all of the decorations and activities. We ate tons of delicious Mexican food, made some awesome margaritas (I could only enjoy a small sip to taste...big bummer), and stayed up way to late talking and laughing until we cried.

Our first activity Friday morning was a segway tour of downtown San Antonio. We spent 2 hours scooting around to see the Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral, the Riverwalk, Tower of the Americas, and so much more! It was awesome! The segways were so much fun to ride and pretty easy to get used to. And, of course, it was even better with us wearing matching t-shirts and Kate had made for us. Everyone kept stopping to ask us who "The Cupcakes" are and we were even asked if we were a beauty pageant, to which we politely replied, "Yes!" Hey, why not?!?

After the tour, we went to the Market Square for lunch and shopping. There was a tejano music festival happening so there were tons of people and live music. It was a fun, cultural experience!

That night, we learned how to make homemade tortillas and guacamole and enjoyed delicious fajitas for dinner with countless bags of chips and yummy salsa too.

Saturday, we spent the morning relaxing and had several crafts. We made Dia de los Muerto soap skulls, cupcake milagros for our Christmas trees, and Dahlia earrings. It was great to do some girlie things while having time to chat and take it easy too. That afternoon we went to a salsa dancing lesson and had a blast. The instructors were really good and were impressed with how quickly we all picked it up!

After dancing and working up an appetite, we went back to Kate's and ate dinner and watched Baylor play in the sweet 16! It was such a refreshing weekend and I'm so thankful for these girls!! Ready for our 10th Girls' Weekend in Waco next year!
The kids stayed in Memphis with the grandparents while I was gone. They had a blast and were spoiled as usual. Shopping, eating out, movies, bike rides, tractor rides, feeding horses, and ipad...you name it, they did it!
