Lee and I went to San Francisco for a week for the national surgery conference. It was a great trip with just the two of us and the kids had a blast with Emme and Pop Pop at the beach. We spent a lot of time just relaxing and walking around the city and eating all of the amazing food. I thoroughly enjoyed my spa day that Lee gave me for my birthday. It was the perfect addition to a week of relaxation without kids. Our friends, Blair and Andrew, went too, so Blair and I did some shopping and sightseeing while the guys were at meetings. We probably walked 20 miles throughout a few days there! We also went to Napa for a day trip with a couple of the trauma attendings which was amazing! We loved it last time we were there and were so excited to go back. Another day, we went to tour Alcatraz and it was so interesting. We spent about 2 hours walking around and looking at all of the old prison buildings and grounds around the island. We had beautiful weather the whole week and enjoyed the much needed time to ourselves. We missed the kids though and were ready to get back to them when the time came :)
While we were away...
As you can tell, the kids really missed us :) They had a great time at the beach with Pop Pop and Emme and Lee loved playing with cousin Parker too.
