Early Birthday Celebration

My parents came in town for a birthday celebration for my dad and me. His birthday was Sunday and mine is next Sunday. We had so much fun hanging out with them and Lee 3 soaked up all of the attention as usual. Emme bought him a new dog book with tabs that pull out to make the dogs do different things, like wag their tails, scratch their ear, even hike a leg :) He loves it!

Pop Pop downloaded some fun kid apps on his ipad which was a big hit!

Saturday morning, we went to the farmer's market and bought tons of fresh fruit and veggies for dinner that night.

 

 

 

We stopped by the park to play before lunch too. Lee had fun on the slide, seesaw, and swings. It was nice for mommy to sit in the shade while Pops and Emme entertained him :)

  

After Lee woke up from his nap, we filled up the pool in the backyard. Lee absolutely LOVES the water so any chance we have, we play in it, especially since it's still been so hot. (Did I mention I'm ready for fall?!?) Lee got so tickled trying to spray us all with the hose, by far his favorite part of being in the pool. He was even sweet enough to give Shelby a drink of water :)

The guys enjoyed watching football in the man-cave, though all of our teams lost that weekend. Bummer! At least they got to enjoy some queso and chips while being "manly" :)

We cooked an amazing dinner that night with grilled t-bone steaks, grilled potatoes, purple peas, green beans, and grilled bread. It was delicious! It was nice to just relax at home too.

I absolutely love my birthday present from my parents. We had some work done in our kitchen and sort of rearranged some furniture, but I really needed more storage and told my mom to keep her eyes out for a hutch. She found this awesome one at a consignment shop and had her friends, Emily and Katherine (who painted my nursery dresser too) paint it cream and distress it. It turned out awesome and looks perfect in the kitchen! It's so nice to have some extra space to store stuff and I know it will look so cute in another house too :) Thanks, Mom and Dad for a great birthday!

 

Lee had fun playing in the box my dad's gift came in. He kept climbing in and out and then would lay down and say "night night". Really funny!
