Mother's Day

Lee and I went up to Memphis last weekend for Mother's Day and had a blast with our families. Since we have to share time between fams, we spent Saturday with my family and Sunday with his. Hunter and his girlfriend, Sarah, came in town and Parker was back from school. My mom was so excited...it had been a year since we were all together! She bough a badminton kit and bocci ball so we would have things to do outside. It was so much fun!! Felt a little like the Brady Bunch family, but with a few less people. :-)

We slept in late Saturday and then had an amazing breakfast that my mom made. (She loves to cook and go all out when we're home!) Fresh fruit, caramel apple french toast, and bacon. Yum!!! We watched old home videos (Sarah's request) for awhile which was hilarious. We were all crying we were laughing so hard! With the neon 80's clothes, the awful hair, and the cheesy things we did, it was thoroughly entertaining. Then we got ready for badminton. It was supposed to be cloudy and chance of rain all day, but ended up being a beautiful day! After badminton, we took a break from the outdoor activities for a little while until we could build up some energy for bocci ball. In the meantime, we played with the dogs outside and watched Shelby do her favorite thing, fly off the dock into the water! My parents live on about 4 acres of land with a pond, hills, and trees...made for some very interesting bocci ball. Trent, my brother-in-law, came over too and totally dominated us. He was ridiculously good, which we kept telling him might not be something to brag about :-) Anyone who has ever played bocci ball can understand that hills are tough. My dad had to stand down by the pond to keep the balls from rolling in the water. We had dinner after that...yummy steaks and salad and strawberry cake for dessert. It was such a fun day and a true blessing to be together with my whole family. Meme was there too!

Sunday we got up early and went to church with Lee's family and then to lunch with his mom's side of the family...27 people!! We pretty much took over a room at the restaurant! It was great seeing his aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. It's always exciting having his family together...lots of energy! Unfortunately we had to drive back Sunday afternoon so we said our goodbye's and hit the road again.

Here are some pics from the weekend (all that my dad took). We don't have any with Lee's family because I forgot to take them :-(

Fun!! Meme looks so great. Such a sweetie. I'm glad Mama Marilyn had fun with all her little chicks home. :) And what would everyone do without your Dad? There would be no photo albums to look through that's for sure!
